BMW V12 Engine Production Ended This Year. Limited M760i Available

Production starts in June.

We knew that this day would come. In a world that is moving towards electric vehicles, twelve petrol-powered cylinders won’t be sustainable. BMW will make its final V12 engine for a road-model in June. A limited number of 12 special cars will be produced by the German automaker to commemorate this occasion. They will be built on the M760i xDrive.

BMW will make the sedan stand out from all 7 Series models by adding a unique V12 rear badge to it. However, other features will be added to distinguish it. Each of the 12 M760is will receive special 20-inch double-spoke light alloy wheels in either Jet Black or Window Grey. Each door sill is engraved with “THE FINAL 12” and a plaque. BMW has placed a console-mounted plaque commemorating its “1 OF12” rarity among the Piano Black trim.

Customers can choose from over 80 BMW Individual paint colours. Customers can choose from either black or blue M Sport brake discs, and BMW offers a selection of BMW Individual Full Merino leather for the interior.

The M760i’s twin-turbocharged BMW 6.6-liter V12 makes 601 horsepower (448kW). The engine propels the sedan to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. This is a testament to how far engine technology has advanced since BMW’s original V12 engine was introduced in 1987. With its single overhead cams, the 5.0-liter forebearer made 295 horsepower (220 kW) in BMW’s 750i.

BMW will reach out to customers who have a history of V12 7 Series ownership and offer them the chance to buy BMW’s last V12 model. The price for the 2022 M760i xDrive sedan is $200,000, excluding the $995 destination fee. BMW will deliver a trophy desk to each customer after they take delivery. Production in the USA begins in June with delivery expected to begin in July.
