Brabus unveils the 900 Rocket Edition, a street-legal crossover that can travel at a speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). The 2021 Monaco Yacht Show will see the debut of this high-speed machine.
Based on the GLE 63S Coupe, the 900 Rocket. It has 888 horsepower (662 Kilowatts) as well as 774 pound-feet (1.050 Newton-meters). The crossover can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds. The engine can produce 922 lb-ft (1.250 Nm) technically, but Brabus tunes it for this application in order to protect the driveline components.
The standard GLE63, on the other hand, has 603 horsepower (450 kW) as well as 627 lbft (850 Nm) which allows the vehicle to hit 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds.
Brabus raises the engine displacement from 3,982 to 4,407cc in order to achieve significant power increase. This is achieved by increasing the bore to 84 millimeters, and the stroke to 100 millimeters. New parts include larger, forged pistons, a billet crankshaft and longer, forge piston rods.
Other powertrain modifications include replacing stock turbos with units with a larger compressor unit, reinforced axial bearing, and other upgrades. The delivery rate of updated fuel pumps is higher. Larger downpipes are 2.9 inches in diameter (75 millimeters) and run into stainless steel exhaust via tailpipes with carbon and titanium finishers.
Brabus embellishes the exterior with a variety carbon fiber components and an exposed finish. It rides on forged 24-inch wheels with carbon aero discs. It is made of leather and Alcantara, with carbon fiber trim.
Brabus has only 25 units of the 900 rocket. The asking price for one is EUR381,243 (or $447,322 at current exchange rate).
