Brabus has released a new tuning program to tune the twin-turbo V8 engine used in the Mercedes CL/S550 or CL/S63 AMG.
The CL500 and S500 (CL550/S550 in the US) can be equipped with the 490 PowerXtra CGI kits. This allows the V8 to produce 490 PS (382 kW/ 482 BHP) and 780 Nm (575 Lb-ft) respectively, which is an increase from the standard 435 PS (335 kW/ 429 bhp). The 520 PowerXtra CGI kit allows the engine to produce 520 PS (382kW /512 bhp), and 820 Nm (604lb-ft) respectively. This is an 85 PS increase (63 kW/84 bhp for both 500 models).
The CL63 and S63AMG are now available with Brabus’ 584 PowerXtra CGI configuration, which produces an additional 40 PS (29kW / 39bhp). A 620 PowerXtra CGI version is also available, which offers 620 PS (455kW /610 bhp), and 1,000 Nm (773 lb-ft). The CL- and S-Class can reach speeds of 320 km/h (200 miles) in the second state of tune.
