Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is still insanely fast, despite not hitting acceleration target

It is not considered slow to travel less than three seconds to 60 miles per hour.

The W16 engine, which is a landmark in the history of internal combustion engines, can be found in the Chiron Pur Sport. It allows Bugatti’s hypercar 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds from a standstill. The 1,500-horsepower machine from Molsheim is one of the quickest-accelerating production vehicles enthusiasts have ever seen, despite weighing about as much as a midsize SUV.

It can still impress even when it isn’t capable of reaching the manufacturer’s acceleration target. Mat Watson, had the chance to test the Chiron with the Pur Sport flavor. He only managed a 2.86 second for his first 0-60mph run. The stability system kicked in, and power delivery was not optimal. You can also see a little bit of wheelspin.

Launch control was still on for the second attempt, but he tweaked the settings to make the quad-turbo monster 8.0-liter a sportier configuration. The result was less impressive as the time recorded by the dedicated measuring device was only 2.85 seconds. Mat managed to improve his 0-60 MPH performance.

The Chiron Pur Sport ran in 2.59 seconds. This is not as fast as the specs. Supercars and hypercars are often faster than the manufacturers claim. However, this was not the case. Perhaps the tires were too cold or worn out to allow the mid-engined Bugatti made in France to reach the same 2.3 second time.

The Pur Sport, one of many Chiron versions, is slower than the standard Chiron’s 218 mph top speed. It is 43 mph lower than the standard Chiron’s 218 mph top speed. It’s also 86 miles slower than the Super Sport 300+. It can run the 0-60 mph race in just two-tenths faster than the regular model, despite its lack of maximum velocity.

It takes just 5.9 seconds to go from 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h), while it takes 12.4 seconds to reach 186 mph (390 km/h), when you come to a halt. This makes it 1.2 times faster than the entry-level Chiron.

These improvements include reducing 110 pounds in weight, reducing the transmission’s gear ratios 18 percent, and changing the engine to produce more torque earlier. It also generates 110 pounds more downforce at 218 mph than the regular model, and rides on custom Michelin tires.

It’s still not bad for 2.59 seconds. Few other ICE-powered cars can match this, except for electric hypercars like the Rimac Nevera.
