However, the glass panels cannot be removed.
Bugatti has no plans to make an open-roof version the Chiron. The hypercar company’s Sky View roof is the next best thing. This layout places a fixed glass panel over each seat to allow for clear views of the sky. Sky View has the added benefit of increasing the Chiron’s headroom by 1.06inches (2.7 centimeters), making it an attractive option for taller buyers.
Each Sky View panel’s glass panels measure 2 feet 1.6 inches (65 cmimeters), and 1 foot 5 in (44 centimeters). Bugatti used four layers of intermediate laminated glass to create the pieces. According to Bugatti, this technique keeps the cabin quiet and the tinted glasses reflects off infrared radiation which would heat it up.
Chiron buyers can order the Sky View roof now. A supercar will be brought by the company with the glass panels Monterey Car Week, in late August. This will allow wealthy customers to have a better view of the option.
Bugatti will not only unveil the Chiron with Sky View roof at Monterey Car Week, but also showcase its Divo hypercar there. The Chiron’s underpinnings will be used, but the car will offer even greater performance. The Chiron’s 2.5 second sprint will see a significantly revised body produce more downforce. This will result in a drop in top speed to 239 mph (385 km/h). The W16 quad-turbo W16 will continue to be behind the occupants. However, a new transmission is said to allow for much quicker shifts.
It’s too late to get a Divo. There are already reservations for the entire production of less than 100 units. Bugatti is selling them at an astronomical $5.85million.
