What is the Bugatti divo like the Chiron?
Bugatti showcased its new hypercar, Divo, in California during Monterey Car Week. The car’s incredible performance and price tag of $5.8million (EUR5million) is unimaginable. Only 40 Bugatti Divos are being built and all have been sold. The Divo is an evolution and redesign of the Chiron . It’s a modified and redesigned version of the Chiron . See the differences between them.
The Chiron has less aggressive sheet metal, which makes it a marked difference in design. The lines of the Divo are more sinister and sharper than those of the Chiron. However, don’t let their looks fool you. This is a more remodeled Chiron than it is a new one. You can see that the two have the same proportions if you look closely.
Designers added distinctive headlights to the Divo, as well as a modified lower front fascia and a beefier wing. These new additions give Divo an aggressive look that hints at its improved track performance.
Although they look very different, are the differences worth the extra cost?
It is futile to hope that the Divo’s expensive price tag would include an exclusive interior to match its exterior styling. They share the same interior, except for the seats and some other details. The interior of the Divo is beautiful with some unique touches that add eye-catching trim pieces. However, it’s not as original as you would expect for a hypercar costing $5.8 million.
You’ll find the same quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produces 1,500 horsepower (1.118 kilowatts) under the Divo’s sheetmetal. This is not surprising. This is not surprising as the W16 powertrain can be powerful enough to support the Divo’s track goals.
The speed of the Chiron is the Divo, but agility is the goal of the Divo. The Divo is eight times faster around the Nardo circuit that the Chiron. This is a huge improvement. Engineers made modifications to the chassis, including suspension and camber. This allowed for a weight reduction of 77 pounds (34 kg). It still weighs in at 4,321 lbs (1960 kg).
The Divo can travel at 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in just 2.4 seconds, and a maximum speed of 236mph (379 Kph). This is well below the Chiron’s top speed of 261 mph (405 kph). However, high speed is not important on a track.
On paper, the differences between Divo and Chiron are minimal. It’s what you can’t see that makes the difference. With its improved aerodynamics, the Divo cuts the track in a way that only the Chiron could dream of. Is that worth the $5.8million price tag? It doesn’t really matter. It doesn’t matter. All 40 people have a home.
There’s also the Chiron Sport, which is 39 lbs (18 kilograms) lighter than the standard Chiron and features a redesigned chassis and an upgraded suspension. The Chiron Sport circles the Nardo three times faster than the Divo and costs only $3.09million. These differences are even less than the Divo’s, but the Chiron is still a great looking car.
