Busy Autobahn Bungles Bugatti Chiron Super Sport High-Speed Run

It still hits 212 miles per hour.

The Bugatti CHiron is the fastest production car in the world. The Chiron Super Sport 300+ was able to reach 304.774 mph (490.484 km/h) in 2019 and feels perfect for the German Autobahn. Although the road is unrestricted, cars can reach unfathomable speeds. However, one must have an open road to do this. This was not possible for the ChironSuper Sport when Carwow drove the hypercar to the famous highway.

The Bugatti was unable to reach its maximum speed of 273 mph (440 km/h) in regular Super Sport traffic. Although the bespoke automaker claims that the hypercar is “easy and safe to drive” at these speeds, Carwow host Mat Watson did not manage to reach the car’s maximum speed. He was able to do 212 mph (341 km/h), which is still quite impressive. Watson stated that the Chiron would be able to reach its maximum speed at night, when there was less traffic.

The Chiron Super Sport packs a quad-turbocharged W16 engine with 1,577 horsepower (1.159 kilowatts), and 1,600 Newton-meters (1.180 pound-feet). The hypercar can reach speeds of 124 mph (200 km/h) in 5.8 seconds. It can also hit speeds of 184 mph (30 km/h) in 12.1 seconds. This is the same time it takes other supercars for to complete the quarter mile. The engine is paired with a seven speed dual-clutch manual gearbox. Bugatti’s powerful powertrain is paired with an automatic seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This system can also be used to quickly reduce speed.

The EUR3.2-million hypercar ($3.7 million at current exchange rates), when driven at such speeds on the open road alongside other drivers, seems like a great way to have a heart attack. However, it is great to see hypercars being driven on the roads. These hypercars will be kept close to their owners by the lucky owners.
