The unofficial design looks fantastic.
The Cadillac CT5V Blackwingis one of the most powerful production Caddys ever made. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine produces 668 horsepower and places it among the most powerful muscle sedans in the world. What if the sedan was not available? It was once possible to get the predecessor in a two-door coupe form. This unofficial rendering shows that the CT5 would make a great two-door GT car.
Let’s first look at the design language of the Cadillac CT5 before we get into the creation. This is TheSketchMonkey creating the coupe in the YouTube video. He raises some interesting points. The CT5 has been criticized for its conservative styling. This is a striking contrast to the BMW’s current trends. However, the video shows how the CT5’s body lines and design cues blend together, creating a satisfying look. One could argue that the CT5’s conservative features were what made BMW so famous in the 1980s and 1990s. Sometimes more is not better.
It’s not difficult to create a sleek-looking two-door CT5V Blackwing sedan. The greenhouse is balanced by a slightly stretched hood and a slight drop in the roofline. This already-swoopy roof works well as a two-door coupe. It gives the car a stylish fastback look with a classic GT appearance. The CT5 also has a small body kit that gives it a lower stance. Other minor adjustments are made to features like the headlights. It looks great, we have to admit.
This is an unofficial rendering, and Cadillac has no plans to offer anything similar. The CT5-V Blackwing has a low-volume, niche market price of $85,000, and options-up prices that reach six figures. Although there is a smaller market for two-door models, the Blackwing models mark the end of internal-combustion performance by Cadillac. It would be great to see a last V8-powered coupe sporting a Caddy Crest on the streets.
