Other problems are also reported with the vehicle.
Hyundai Genesis was a luxury car brand before Genesis. The car was available in a coupe or a sporty sedan, and received enough attention that Hyundaiit could be created an entire Genesis division. It was redesigned in 2013 and is still very popular as a rear-wheel drive coupe with an option for a manual transmission. Unfortunately, this Genesis Coupe buyer has had a difficult start to ownership.
What else could you describe the experience of watching your brand-new sports coupe tumble off a truck? Chris Dankers, a TikTok user, captured the experience in a short video. Dankers allegedly bought the car through Carvana at a cost of upwards to $30,000. The reason the car began rolling back after the flatbed was tipped is not known. It was obviously not in gear or tied down at this point. Even if the parking brake had been set, it was not fully engaged.
The car will begin to roll backwards as soon as it turns fully on the Carvana truck bed. Although it wasn’t too far from the ground, it was enough to cause the car unceremoniously to slam on the rocker panels in front of the rear wheels. You can also see the crunched metal flying off the bed as the car makes a sickening sound.
But, wait! There’s more.
We see Dankers still owns the car in follow-up TikTok videos. The car is seen in one clip at a shop being inspected for damage. Another clip, embedded below, takes us under the car while a narrator discusses alleged problems such as coolant leaks and bad power steering fluid. Also, replacement body panels that were supposed be swapped before shipping. We learn from video comments that the car had only 10,000 miles when he bought it through Carvana. It sounds like the car has had a rough time despite its low mileage.
This explains why the car sold for $30,000, since it is worth nearly as much with low mileage, according to Kelley blue Book. This may explain why the car is still owned by the owner despite all the alleged problems and the fact that it was damaged. It is hard to imagine that there are many vehicles with this mileage. Carvana usually offers buyers several days before finalizing the sale. Dankers states that Carvana will pay for the damage to the truck while it is inspected and assessed.
It’s possible that the car was returned to Carvana. The original video is more than a week old. This brings us to the final question: Would you keep a car that was expensively purchased only to be damaged upon delivery? We’d love to hear from you in the comments section.
