The Korean grand tourer knows how have fun.
Although the Kia Stinger GT can be described as a grand tourer, it doesn’t mean it isn’t capable of having fun. The Stinger GT has a twin-turbo V6 under its hood that sends power to either the rear wheels or all four corners. This is why you will see it at the beginning of the video.
The updated Stinger was launched in Korea in August 2013, and in Europe in the same month. However, there is a slight power boost. The new model has 368 horsepower (272 kW) and the previous one had 365 horsepower (272.kW). This was what was tested in acceleration tests.
The white Stinger clocks in at 4.98 seconds for the run of 0-62 miles/hour (100 km/h) while the 100-200 km/h (124 MPH) run took 14.45 seconds. Although the quarter-mile sprint took 13 seconds, it was impressive.
The cabin is the best upgrade to the Stinger. The refreshed model has Alcantara inserts in the seats and most of the dashboard, as seen in the video. This is a grand tourer vehicle, which means you will spend hours driving it.
The updated 2022 Stinger was officially launched in the US this month. The biggest update is the turbocharged 2.5-liter four cylinder engine that produces 300 hp (224kW) and 311lb-ft (422Nm) of torque in the lower trims. This is a significant 45-hp improvement over its predecessor.
The US debut of the Stinger is also marked by the announcement that the Scorpion special edition will be arriving later in the spring. This package is limited edition and includes a rear spoiler as well as special black exterior trim, wheels and carbon fiber pattern trim inside the cabin.
The 2022 Stinger is priced at $36,090 on the GT-Line, and at $51,290 on the GT-Line. Destination charges are not included.
