Check out the Hyundai Staria Minivan in Real Life!

Unfortunately, it is not common in the US.

Hyundai unveiled the Staria minivan last Wednesday. The automaker described its design as “future-oriented and innovative exterior that resembles a spaceship”. Although we don’t always agree with the industry’s marketing language, this explanation seems pretty accurate.

The Staria’s design will be the main focus of the MPV, as it was only made for Hyundai’s domestic market. We are not ( likely) going to test drive one, so we can only look at its appearance for now.

Official photos don’t give much context about the Staria’s size. It’s a minivan that seats 11 people. A new video shows the Staria’s massive size in comparison to what appears to be a previous generation Hyundai Tucson. The video does not have English subtitles, and the South Korean translation is poor. However, you can learn lots about the model just by watching the footage.

Official gallery for the model featured the premium trim level, which features a stunning radiator grille, full LED headlights and custom 18-inch alloy wheels. The Staria appears to be in a lower grade, with a strange two-tone exterior combination and slightly toned down tires. Although the interior does not feature the original vehicle’s stylish brown leather, it still looks great and practical.

Hyundai is yet to release technical specifications for Staria’s minivan. Although we don’t know what lies beneath the skin, the video shows the rear axle with a multi-link suspension.
