Chengdu Motor Show: Production Kia K4 makes its debut

Officially, Kia has taken over the K4 sedan at Chengdu Motor Show

Officially, Kia has taken the wraps off the K4 sedan at Chengdu Motor Show.

Dongfeng Yueda-Kia will produce the model and it will only be available in China. The model is available on the Chinese car market today, less five months after the concept was revealed in Beijing.

The K4 is 4.72m long and has a 2.7-meter wheelbase. It uses the same architecture of the Hyundai Mistra. At launch, there will be two petrol engines: a 1.8 with 175 Nm (129lb-ft) & 146 bhp (175 kW), and a 2.0 which develops 162 bhp (121 kW) & 194 Nm (143lb-ft). A 175 PS (130kW) 1.6 turbo engine will be added later.

The K4 is aimed at family-oriented clients in their 40s and 30s. It starts at 140,000 Yuan (22,500 USD), and then goes up to 180,000 Yuan (29,000 USD), for the top-of-the-line version.
