Chevrolet goes darkside with Overlanding and Blackout Concepts at SEMA

Mods are more gentle than other trucks.

Annual SEMA show is an opportunity for automakers and aftermarket businesses to get wild with crazy builds. Chevrolet already displays a wild truck called the Beast. However, this off-roader is offset by a variety of mild trucks and SUVs that have a few more practical touches.

Here’s a look at the trucks that Chevy will be exhibiting at SEMA.

Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 Overlanding Concept

The Tahoe Z71 Overlanding concept is the only vehicle in the collection that is not black. It also depicts the full-size SUV as an aggressive off-road version. The Tahoe rides on an air suspension with 33-inch tires and 18-inch beadlock wheels. It also has a roof tent to provide shelter for overnight stays away from the main road. It’s tough exterior is enhanced by fender flares and an updated exhaust. If the going gets tough, an off-road recovery kit is available.

Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Edition

This Chevrolet Colorado is the other Z71 overlanding in the group. Chevy wants to showcase the Colorado Z71’s capabilities with the Trail Boss offroad package, which is available right from the factory. This truck is stock save to get a roof tent and topper to keep campers from getting sucked into creepy crawlies.

Chevrolet Suburban Street Concept

Chevrolet’s Suburban Street Concept makes Chevrolet more street-friendly by removing the tent from overlanding and cruising. The SUV is lowered by the air-ride suspension, while the wheels are low-profile and have custom 24-inch wheels. Chevrolet adds lots of black to the package by adding a custom grille and matte black decals to the hood and mirror caps.

Chevrolet Silverado High Country Midnight Concept

Do you love black appearance packages, but not a street-oriented SUV? The Silverado concept gets the blackout treatment. We mean all is black. Except for the silver-outlined bow tie, the 20-inch wheels and badges are all solid black. Black exhaust tips, bumpers and mirrors are all available. This is a preview of a new High Country appearance package. We will only know when it is.
