Chevrolet Sends a Trio of Cars to Pace the NASCAR Field at Daytona

For the race weekend, the Chevrolet Silverado and Camaro will be at-track.

We’re fresh from the 2021 Super Bowl and another American pastime is about to start. We are referring to the Daytona 500, which will launch the NASCAR racing season in February. Daytona is not just one race, however. It also hosts events for the Camping World Truck Series as well as the Xfinity Series. And Chevrolet will pace them all.

Different events require different vehicles. Daytona 500 is Sunday’s main event. Chevy leads the charge with a blue Corvette. The field will be paced by a new Chevrolet Camaro in the same blue-black livery for Saturday’s Xfinity Series race. The 2.5-mile tri-oval, which will be the domain for cars on Friday, will be the domain for race trucks. A second blue Bow-Tie, this time a Chevy silverado pickup, will lead the field in Saturday’s Xfinity Series race.

Tony Johnson, Chevrolet’s director for car and cross-marketing, said that after a very successful 2020, the drivers and teams are motivated and ready to help Chevrolet get back on the winning track, starting at Daytona. “In addition to thrilling green-flag racing we are really looking forward to showing the Daytona 500 Corvette Stingray pace vehicle and so many other race fans Saturday during the Chevy MyWay ‘Live from Daytona’ broadcast.”

Johnson speaks at Chevrolet.com/myway. The broadcast starts Saturday, February 13, at 11:00 EST. The show, which will last 20 minutes, will discuss Daytona’s history as well as provide a behind-the scenes look at the technology that made the race possible. It’s safe to assume that there will be lots automotive content related to Chevrolet.

The 2021 Daytona 500 will be held Sunday, at 11:30 a.m. EST.
