The 2023 SEMA Show will be the first time that the completed build will be displayed.
Many enthusiasts would love to have a 1960s Corvette C2 equipped with a Lamborghini motor. American Legends Builds, a team of restomod experts, made this dream a reality. Karan Adivi was the designer who created the car’s design.
Timeless lines
Adivi shared the first renderings on his Instagram account. While Adivi’s design retains the spirit of his original, he updated the details to make it more modern. The pop-up headlights have been removed and replaced by thin LED strips. This front fascia is more like a 1960s vehicle than a machine on the market today.
The wheels are now hidden in the top of the fenders along the sides. The shoulder line is now more defined, while the lines of the windows appear sharper. The split rear glass of the ’63 Corvette can be seen at the back. Instead of having two circular lights at each end, the taillights now span the length of the tail.
Italian power
This is the most straightforward part of the build. It is more difficult to fit a 5.2-liter V10 engine from a 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo 560-4 under Corvette’s long hood. This mill produces 552 horsepower (412 Kilowatts) as well as 398 pound-feet (554 newton-meters).
Chevrolet Performance has crate engines that are more powerful and torque than these, but they won’t make the same sound quality as a Lamborghini V10.
This mill drove the Lambo to speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in less that 4.0 seconds. According to performance estimates, this C2 should be faster.
For now, renderings of the Lambo-powered C2 are only available. American Legends Builds will debut the vehicle at the 2023 SEMA Show. We won’t see it in metal until November.
