Chevy Shows Off Fleet Of Camaro Convertibles For 2022 Indy 500

The 106th Indy 500 will begin on May 29, 2022.

As we enter the final months of the Indy 500, the 106th Indy 500 has begun. Indy Motor Speedway will celebrate the occasion with a fleet Chevrolet Camaro Festival Event Cars that will be used for promotion of the Great American Race.

This is the Chevy Convertible SS with Wild Cherry Tintcoat exterior, Ceramic White interior. All of them feature special decals that promote the 106th Running of Indy 500. Each car has a unique GM code and was created by Chevrolet Performance Design Studio in Michigan.

Festival Event Cars have been used to promote Indy 500 races for years. Indy dignitaries, corporate leaders and others will drive these cars around Indianapolis from April through May to race day. The 106th Indy 500 will begin on May 29, 2022.

The Indy 500 is not without its Chevy Camaro. The Indy 500’s pace car has been the Chevy Camaro nine times since the 1960s. The latest was in 2016. This could also be a way to send off the nameplate when it faces the axe.

A wild rumor suggests that the Camaro will continue to be available after the current full ICE model, but as an four-door sedan. According to rumors, the Camaro replacement will arrive in 2024 when the current model is discontinued. This report should be taken with a grain if you don’t like it.
