This is a great-looking car by the Sino-British automobile manufacturer.
Concept cars are a long-standing tradition. Their history dates back to 1938 with the Buick YJob, which was considered the first ever concept car. Concept cars have become a common sight in modern times. They showcase the capabilities of the carmaker or give a glimpse at a future model.
Morris Garages is now open. MG SAIC Motors has unveiled its latest concept car. The Cyberster Concept is an electric sports car that was unveiled at SAIC Design’s Instagram.
The design of the MG Cyberster Concept is very emotive. We can’t help admiring its low-slung beauty, even in prototype form. The emissions-free roadster was designed by SAIC Design Advanced London. It features a sleek front end that flows through the body and ends abruptly at its Kamm tail. The rear end is particularly striking with the Union Jack graphics created by the LED lights. This harkens back to the roots the Sino-British automobilemaker.
Although the Cyberster is still in concept, MG has already confirmed that it will be an electric vehicle. The Cyberster has a range of 500 miles (805 km), and the sprint time is claimed to be below three seconds.
It’s hard to miss the steering yokes that are reminiscent of the new Tesla Model S and Model X. The safety concerns this steering wheel design poses on the NHTSA will likely be dropped if the Cyberster ever makes it to production.
Although it is difficult to say if MG will ever produce a Cyberster in production, it is important to remember that the automaker has been playing with the idea for a halo sportscar for some time. Only time will tell if this emotive design is successful.
