With destination fees included, you’ll be paying almost $75,000
Jeep revealed its V8-powered Wrangler 392 in November 2020. However, the automaker is very evasive about pricing. The Launch Edition optioned up is now available at a price that’s quite expensive. To take one home, you’ll need $73,500. However, that does not include the $1,495 destination fee. This Hemi-powered Wrangler is $74,995.
This MSRP applies only to the Launch Edition. The base price for the Rubicon 392 will be less. Jeep claims that the Launch Edition comes “well-equipped” with features such as leather interior, the Infotainment Group and Cold Weather Group, LED Lighting Groups, Safety Group, Advanced Safety Groups, Steel Bumper Group, Leather Bumper Group, and other body-colored items.
However, it doesn’t include all options – for example, dual-door or dual-top groups, trailer-tow packages, and an integrated off-road camera are additional. According to previously leaked pricing information, the most expensive Rubicon 392 could cost $80,000.
The Rubicon 392’s main attraction is the 6.4-liter Hemi Hemi V8. It produces 470 horsepower (355 kilowatts), making it the most powerful Wrangler in this group. The Rubicon 392 gets an upgraded engine and Fox shocks suspension, as well as a 2″ lift and a full-time 4WD system. It can also get a functional hood scoop and the ability to reach 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Although it seems odd for a vehicle that is used to off-roading at slow speeds, Jeep calls the Rubicon 392 a Wrangler.
Jim Morrison, Jeep North America Vice President, stated that Jeep enthusiasts requested a Wrangler with a V-8 engine. “We listened to them and made the decision,” he said. The Jeep Wrangler is now the fastest and most powerful yet. It also comes loaded with standard off-road performance features, making it extremely capable of traversing the most difficult terrain.
Not Place the Rubicon 392 next the Hellcat powered Ram TRX at nearly $75,000. It also offers more cargo and passenger space, and is priced comfortably below the Jeep at $70,000. This is not an apples-to–apples comparison, as we are comparing a base-model TRX to a Launch Edition Rubicon 3392. You can go crazy with the TRX options and you will sail past $100,000. A well-equipped Wrangler V8 may be difficult to sell, but you can still get a Hellcat TX for less than $100,000.
Jeep did not respond to our request for information about whether the Rubicon 392 base model would be priced at least below the TRX. Jeep is not yet able to provide pricing information on the Rubicon 392 but it’s best to expect it soon. Jeep says the V8 Wrangler will be available in dealerships by the end of the first quarter 2021. We are now in March, and there is still a month left.
