Corvette C7 Z06, Corvette ZR1 Owners Having Trouble Finding Rear Tires

You can change things quickly if you have patience.

All of you should know about the harmful effects of the coronavirus epidemic. It was not only a crisis of health, but also an economic one. manufacturing saw production and sales slow down due to impaired mobility. It is a domino effect and many industries are experiencing the effects as a result.

One example is the tire industry. Last year saw a decrease in tire supply due to factory closures. While you might argue that the current production restart doesn’t affect popular sizes of tires, niche-type tire wearers get the short end of the stick.

Yes, these include the Chevy C7, especially the Z06 and Grand Sport. According to GM Authority, there is not enough supply of rear tires for the C7 trims, and only the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ is available on the market. Even tires from Continental and Bridgestone are not widely available in US retailers or resellers.

For those who don’t know, all Corvette C7 Z06 and Grand Sport ZR1 have 335-25-20 rear tires. These are very unusual sizes. The C7 Stingray base comes with 285-30-20 rears.

Although production has resumed, tire companies have a tendency to restock the usual sizes that are in greater demand.

Don’t worry if you are one of the Corvette C7 owners looking to replace your rear rubbers. GM Authority reports, sources close to the matter stated that production of the 335-25-20 series tires would resume in mid-March.

We reckon it was only a matter of time, so be patient while you wait for the restock. It should happen by March end or April.
