Custom McLaren-720S from SWAE is a wicked widebody weapon with 900 HP

A new tuning company is in town and it loves carbon fibre.

Montana’s wilderness is not the place you would expect to find high-end modifications for hypercars. Yet, SWAE is a brand new company nestled in the Rocky Mountains near Glacier National Park. This is not a modest set of mirror covers, or a large wing. The SWAE 720S Widebody is made with carbon fiber and has an engine that produces biblical power.

It is difficult to improve on a car like the McLaren. But, our first glance at this new interpretation shows that it is possible. This creation is a proof-of-concept to test the bleeding edge capabilities 3D printing. As you can see, 3D printing was part of this body kit. It’s made from twill carbon fiber, which is called a widebody set, but the visual expansion is quite subtle.

The body kit is not subtle. SWAE does not explain what is different about the body kit, but the obvious differences are the wide chins and inlets surrounding the front fenders. As well as the flared rear haunches, SWAE claims the large wing uses the first ever 3D-printed titanium wings supports. This unique creation also features custom 10-spoke wheels. It’s supported by an undisclosed performance tune that dramatically increases power from the twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8. SWAE claims that the rear wheels produce more than 900 horsepower. This should translate to over 1,000 horsepower at the crankshaft.

To showcase McLaren’s ability to build bespoke vehicles, this McLaren special was unveiled in Miami. This would indicate that the car is not for sale. However, SWAE has mentioned an estimate price of $500,000 to bring this widebody 720S to fruition.

Trevon Hermosillo, co-founder of SWAE, stated that SWAE “operates in a space above luxury – enhancing every caliber of craftsmanship and creating a sum greater than its parts.” Our edict requires us to pursue dreams at all cost, which we will do through the sharing of amazing adventures and automobiles. We strive for excellence and believe that perfection cannot be predicated. We plan to push the boundaries of our potential through new experiences and innovative vehicles.
