The retroactive pricing applies to 2015 models, and is free of charge. But there’s a catch.
The Dodge Charger, and Challenger were among most stolen cars in America. It can be difficult enough to have Hellcat power in the hands actual drivers. It’s easy to get enraged by a thief behind a wheel. Dodge offers a free fix that will stop criminal car thieves in their tracks.
It’s a simple, yet highly effective security system. The engine will not start if a would be thief gets inside the vehicle and starts it. This means that the criminal will have all of the horsepower (2.0 kilowatts), and 22 pound-feet (30 Nm) of torque at their disposal to make a getaway. That’s quite a difference from the little. Less You’ll find a better deal than the average lawnmower that you can buy at a hardware store for $200.
According to Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge, “More Than 150 cars are stolen each day in the United States.” It’s an inconvenience and a violation for any car owner. Although statistically uncommon, car thieves have taken aim at high-horsepower Dodge muscle vehicles. We want the Dodge “Brotherhood” to know that we are quick to act and will cover their backs.
Dodge provides this system for free to Charger- and Challenger-owners. It’s also a software upgrade that can be retrofitted on models back to 2015. The catch is that it only works with cars powered by the supercharged Hellcat V8 or the 6.4-liter Hemi. You’re not eligible if you own a standard Hemi or V6 (which accounts for a large portion of Charger and Challenger sales),
In conjunction with Dodge’s Uconnect4C infotainment system, the secondary security system uses a simple four digit security code. Owners of certain Charger and Challenger models will have access to the system in the second quarter 2021.
