This camper is big enough to haul big pickups.
EarthCruiser isn’t shy about off-grid camping. The company is best known for its large FX and EXPoverlanding expedition cars. However, it also offers bolt-on options for trucks. Terranova is the latest version, and it’s designed to fit large pickup trucks. Although technically it is still in development, EarthCruiser provided a glimpse with exterior renderings as well as a description of Terranova’s features.
There are many features to talk about. It’s a large unit that can accommodate up to four people. EarthCruiser’s raised-roof section looks identical to the EXD and EXP models. It incorporates a triple-layer curtain design, eight windows, and a foam-insulated roofing for all-weather functionality. EarthCruiser claims that the Terranova can be used in four seasons with both heating and cooling systems.
Terranova comes with all the amenities. The kitchen features a stainless steel sink, induction stove, refrigerator, freezer, and freezer. The bathroom has a stainless sink basin and a full-height, dual-water capability shower. A cassette toilet and an outdoor shower with hot or cold water are also included in the package. Although water capacities aren’t yet available, it has a closed-circuit water recycling device with three different carbon filters and a UV filter.
The Terranova will also be powered by a pair of 108-watt Sunflare Solar panels and a 400-Ah Lithium battery. The Terranova’s fiberglass shell allows for power to be routed through it. It can fit on one-ton pickups, including those from Ford and Chevrolet.
EarthCruiser’s General Manager Chad Knight stated that “EarthCruiser has been a leading expert in cab over vehicle design in the USA” and that they have been developing cab-over trucks since 2008. We draw on years of engineering and design experience to create the best 4×4 recreation vehicles in the world. The EC Terranova Expedition Camper fulfills customer demand for a cab-over and a choice between a domestic chassis. We know that many customers prefer a truck of consumer-class trucks to commercial trucks and are more comfortable with them. That is what we want to be able honor.”
The Terranova’s pricing is not available right now, but reservations can be made. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of next year.
