Two of Ford’s most iconic hits will be up for auction.
Henry Ford’s great-grandson, Edsel Bryant Ford II, is the son of Henry Ford II. He currently works for Ford, serving the finance and sustainability committees. Edsel Ford II is a distinguished collector of Ford cars. Two of his most valuable cars will be auctioned at the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction.
The auction will take place between 20 and 27 February and will see two Ford stationwagons from different eras go under the hammer. Two cars are being auctioned: a 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Custom Woody Wagon as well as a 1958 Edsel Bermuda Wagon. The latter is one of only 892 examples.
Craig Jackson, Barrett-Jackson CEO, says that it is rare for family members of original manufacturers to sell vehicles from their personal collections at auction. “This pair of beautiful cars has the gravitas of being owned and maintained by an iconic figure in the American automotive industry.”
The Roush Performance team restored the Super Deluxe wagon between 2014 and 2015. The photos show that the Super Deluxe wagon is in a better condition than the one that was destroyed by Roush Performance between 2014 and 2015. The engine was swapped, and the three-speed gearbox replaced with a four-speed transmission.
Roush Performance also restored the second car, but it is showing signs of wear. This isn’t a problem as it is a rare Ford wagon, which was only available for one model year. This estate features a unique V8 engine that produces 400 pound-feet of torque (542 Newton-meters).
