Soon, the few but distinctive nips & tucks will be available in America.
Since last year, Jeep has been testing the Renegade. The prototype was first spotted by our spies in September 2021. Reports suggest that it will make its debut in the US in 2019. Jeep Brazil was forced to reveal the tiny crossover in a series of photos after the 2022 Renagade was revealed in a leaked video. Although the Renegade is currently headed for South America, this can be considered a preview of what’s coming stateside.
The Renegade facelift has a wider grille up front than the previous model. The headlights now have turn signals and DRLs integrated. Jeep was able to modify the fascia, especially the lower section. The fog lights are also now in a more rectangular shape, and they are positioned higher than ever before.
The rear LED taillight graphics on the facelifted model have been updated with new LED graphics. A redesign of the bumper is also in order, with a wider faux skid plate and narrower corners.
In the video leak, the cabin is shown. It shows a slight redesign. The dashboard layout of the previous model is intact. However, the Renegade receives an updated steering wheel from Jeep Compass. The Renegade also received a 7.4-inch digital instrument panel and an 8.4-inch infotainment display. Although we don’t know if the software will be updated, we are not surprised.
The hood is silent, except for the fact that Brazil will no longer use the diesel-powered option. The crossover will also feature the Turboflex T270 engine, a 1.3-liter turboflex T270 that produces 185 horsepower (137kilowatts) when fuelled with ethanol. In its simplest form, it will be front-wheel drive with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The 2022 Jeep Renegade will debut in South America between January and February. The US debut will also be made this year, but we are yet to know when.
