The filming of the Italian duo took place at Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit.
What does the Ferrari 812 Competizione have in common with Fiat Tipo? It is not the same as front-engined Italian cars. They don’t technically even have the same parent company, with Ferrari being publicly held and Fiat one of 14 Stellantis brands following the merger between PSA/FCA. The Prancing Horse also has three times as many cylinders as the compact wagon, provided that it doesn’t have the three-cylinder base engine.
Although the Tipo SW may only be an honest-to God estate at a fraction of Competizione’s cost, Maranello’s V12 beast was a memorable time for the Fiat. The video was shot on Ferrari’s Fiorano track, near the city of northern Italy where the company is based. This cheap wagon was used as a camera car in what will be a future marketing material.
Ferrari’s official unveiling of the car and selling 1,598 examples, including these from the 812 Competizione A Convertible, doesn’t mean that it will not continue to use the model. The car is equipped with the most powerful combustion engine in history, producing 830 horsepower and 510 pound feet (692 Newton-meters) from a 6.5-liter V12.
Although it’s funny to see a Ferrari fanatic “stuck behind” a Fiat plebeian, the crew had to do so in order to capture the 812 Competizione at the highest quality and best angles. After what must have been an enjoyable video recording session, the eight-minute footage ends with both cars leaving the Fiorano truck.
Although it was revealed only months ago, the cabrio and dynamic coupe are not the latest Ferraris to be released. This title goes to the BR20. It is a unique coupe based on GTC4Lusso. The second model in the Icona series, which will be published later this month, is a LaFerrari-based tribute to the 330 Spyder with the 812 Competizione V12.
