The crossover gets a healthy boost with a quick ECU flash.
Vivid Racing used a Bronco Sports Badlands as a test car for Muscle Cars reports. A new dyno video shows significant improvements in both power and torque. Also, the way that the output is delivered over the rpm range has seen huge improvement. The good news is that the power curve does not dip at the top, and the peak power figure appears earlier than usual.
Although the power increase might not seem dramatic on paper, it is noticeable at the wheels. The Bronco Sport gets an additional 36 horsepower (27 kW), 54 lbft (73 Nm), and 222 hp (405 kW) of torque. This, combined with an improved power curve, should make the crossover feel more alive in real-world driving.
Vivid Racing charges $600 for an ECU flash. However, you will need to take the ECU out of your vehicle and send it to the tuning shop. This tuning is only for off-road use, so you will not pass emissions tests in the United States.
