The Fast Lane Car gives you a closer look at the prototype.
The Fast Lane Car crew hit the ground running with a YouTube video that was just posted to their TFLnow channel. The Colorado-based team was on the road in a Subaru, when they came across the unusual proportions of a Ford Bronco. They did what every motoring journalist would do: they took high-definition photos and chased after the test vehicle. They have given the world a stunning look at the machine in action.
This is a clearly still a development mule wearing a hat. Ford Ranger As we have seen on previous sightings, cab. The strange, super-short cap and bed that we have seen at the rear of the vehicle could be Bronco parts. The prototype is also covered with a skirt, which obscures the rear suspension. However, in past sightings, we were able to see a solid axle at its rear. So we don’t think there’s anything new about the Bronco’s underpinnings.
The TFL crew has a strong knowledge base about trucks and was able to apply that knowledge to this sighting. As the prototype was being started, the camera was already rolling. The engine sounded very similar to the Ranger’s four-cylinder 2.3-liter mill. Lucky for them, the truck was spotted again. This time, it was behind a semi-truck on a Colorado highway. They zoomed in to get a closer look. The truck’s single exhaust outlet can be clearly seen. The taillights also appear to be Ranger-spec. They even managed to grab a camera and take a picture of the underside as the vehicle passed by. However, it is difficult to see anything else, except for the Ranger grille hidden behind the mesh.
The prototype was captured at 12,000 feet above the Colorado mountains. This suggests that some high-altitude testing was taking place. Although we doubt that the plan was to get stuck behind a semi with professional reporters right behind, it is possible that there are still many secrets about the production-spec Bronco. This is the best we have seen of the prototype so far, but it’s still quite some time before the real thing hits the streets. The bigger Bronco won’t arrive in 2021. Next year, the smaller off-roader will be available.
