Ford Bronco Tube Doors will Open By The End Of This Year

Your Bronco will take you on a comfortable ride.

According to Ford Authority, tube doors will be available as an accessory for the Ford Bronco by the end 2021. This was stated by unnamed “Ford Performance executives.” The final pricing of the parts is not yet available. Motor1.com reached out to the automaker for confirmation and more information.

Tube doors use the same hinge and latch locations as regular doors. It is possible to switch to fully enclosed parts, so you don’t drive exposed when six inches of snow are on the ground.

Ford displayed the Bronco in July 2020 with “donut” doors (below). Although the design featured an open space in the middle, it was closed elsewhere. However, these pieces did not make it into the accessory catalog.

The Bronco Trail Rig concept was unveiled by in August 2020. It had tube doors and true tube windows. Two-door SUV, Badlands-based, was ready to go off-road with components such as a winch with a 10,000-pound capacity (4,526-kilogram), Yakima roof rack, recovery kits, and heavy-duty floormats.

The Riptide concept featured many Bronco accessories including tube doors. The Sasquatch package included components such as a Yakima bike rack and Rigid LED light bars. It also featured a prototype front bumper.

The Bronco accessory book lists the price for the tube doors at $840 for the three-door model, and $1350 for the five door. Ford Authority says that prices are changing because of the state of the supply chain.

Ford has been increasing Bronco delivery since October 2021. The company shipped 7,364 SUVs in October, an increase of 117 percent over September. The total product volume has reached 17,568 units so far in 2021.
