This is widely believed to be Europe’s new Mondeo, and North America’s Fusion.
Finally! The Ford Evos is finally here after months of speculation and spy shots. It’s similar to the Citroen C5X X. is a segment-blending family car that blends an SUV and wagon. This is the Blue Oval’s first product that was largely developed in China. It will initially be available for purchase by the Changan Ford joint venture.
The attractive, five-door vehicle has a front fascia that is reminiscent of the recently launched Equator. It is becoming a popular design trend to place a light bar above the grille to connect the LED daytime running lamps. We are reminded of the Mustang Mach-E’s pop-out door handles. While Ford claims that the side profile is a coupe-SUV, we think it looks more like an open-top wagon.
This interior is quite a departure from the current Ford designs. It features a screen that spans 1.1 meters (3.6 feet). The digital instrument cluster measures 12.3 inches in size, and is joined by a 4K resolution touchscreen that measures a staggering 27 inches. The entire cluster is housed in the same huge piece of glass that’s almost as large as the dashboard. This is similar to the Honda, which has five screens side-by-side.
Ford’s SYNC+ 2.0 localized software with Baidu AI tech, and what the company calls a virtual personal assistant, runs the infotainment system. The Evos, much like the Mustang Mach-E or F-150, supports over-the-air upgrades. This means that the wagon-SUV can get better with future software versions without the need to visit a dealer.
Although details about availability are not available outside of the People’s Republic, it is widely believed that the Ford Evos will replace the Mondeo in Europe as well as the Fusion in North America. This model’s name would be logical, considering that the 2011 Evos Concept showed the styling direction for the outgoing midsize sedan.
Although technical specifications are still unknown, the vehicle will likely be sold worldwide with a hybrid powertrain. This version is the 1 st Edition. It has all the bells, whistles, and orange accents both inside and outside. Ford Evos is 19 inches in diameter and features a two-tone body that has a predominantly white exterior and a black roof.
This post will be updated as soon as Ford releases additional images and information about the powertrain and underpinnings.
