According to sources familiar with Blue Oval’s production schedule, Ford Authority the Ford F-150 Raptor Raptor R won’t arrive until late 2022. The automaker didn’t say when the hotter pickup would arrive in 2022.
The Raptor R will likely use Ford’s Predator supercharged, 5.2-liter V8. This is the Mustang Shelby GT500. The mill produces 760 horsepower (567 kW) in that application. According to the R, it could have 725 horsepower (540 kW-750 hp) or 750 horsepower (560 kW).
According to reports, other mechanical upgrades include an upgraded suspension with larger trailing arms. The improvements also include a new wheel and tire package.
The Raptor R looks very similar to the standard Raptor, according to spy shots. Spy shots show that the Raptor R may have a revised rear fenders and a new hood. The upgrades include a new grille, which is not visible in the photos.
In June , Ford only started accepting orders for the standard 2021 Raptor. Prices start at $64,145, plus a $1695 destination/handling charge. It is equipped with a twin turbo 3.5-liter V6 that produces 450 horsepower (336 kW) of torque and 510 poundfeet (691 Newton meters) of torque. The exhaust pipes are equal length and have a trombone loop as well as active valves to make the engine sound more natural. There are four sound modes available: Normal, Sport and Quiet.
This model is capable of handling bumps thanks to a five-link rear suspension and long trailing arms. Fox shocks have a 3.1-inch body and 24 inch coil springs. This layout has 14.0 inches of suspension travel frontally and 15.0 inches back.
The Raptor’s exterior has been updated with a revised hood, fascia and tailgate. Inside, buyers will find orange accents and carbon fiber trim.
