This icy package isn’t vanilla.
Let’s get to the point. Ford does not mention Vanilla Ice in its official press release about the Mustang Ice White Edition. This is interesting, considering that this new package is a homage Ford’s white Fox Body Mustang of the same era. It’s not unlike how Vanilla Ice was rolling for his Ice Ice Baby video. But we digress.
Another reason is why the Ice White Edition is so interesting. Ford has created a package that includes both the all-electric Mustang MachE crossover and the internal-combustion Mustang coupe for the first time since its debut. Although white is the main theme, there are differences in the execution of the crossover and coupe.
The Mach-E has a Star White Metallic Tri-Coat exterior with a gray interior. It also features 19-inch aluminum wheels that have white pockets. Ford’s Oxford White finish is used on the coupe. It’s matched with white 19-inch wheels and a black/white interior. Both models have white badges.
“Mustang has always been a magnet for attention, but the Ice White Edition could – like the original ’93 Triple White Fox Mustang – attract more attention,” stated Jim Owens, Mustang brand marketing director. We are proud to continue the long-standing Mustang tradition of offering new, fresh styling.
Customers have many options to help make their Mustang a part of who they are.
Although the appearance package does include a lot of white, it won’t come with a traditional triple-white ‘Stang. It will have a white interior, white finish and a white convertible top. The Ice White Edition will be available only on EcoBoost and GT Premium fastback models of the two-door. The Mach-E will only be available on Premium models. The fall orders for Mach-E with this special package start; coupes with this package will arrive at dealers in early 2022.
