This is dangerous.
Pickup trucks America loves them, and they have been a very popular car body type ever since. These machines are a popular choice for commercial use due to their utilitarian nature.
Pickup trucks are no longer clunky, heavy-duty workhorses. They can now be used as lifestyle vehicles and to haul loads. You won’t see pickup trucks carrying large loads these days. If you do see them, it’s likely to be a truck with dirt bikes or other outdoor equipment on the bed.
Maara Padilla (@lapipadelapaz), posted the video above on Tiktok. It has received around 12,000 reactions as well as nearly 3,000 shares since its posting. It’s not surprising that the truck with a single cab is carrying loads of items on its bed. Most of these items are wooden and nearly twice as tall as the vehicle. Although we don’t know how heavy these things are, a quick look at the wheel area will reveal that they are well beyond the truck’s payload limit.
Despite the items moving back and forth, the pickup is still moving.
It’s obvious, but this video serves as a reminder to you and other road users that exceeding your truck’s maximum payload limit is dangerous. We don’t know when your truck will give way, but if it does, this will likely have a lasting effect on its structural integrity.
If you are unable to do it in one go, it is best not to. It won’t prove anything. Still, it’s better to be safe that sorry.
