Genesis G70 Wagon Revamped After Teaser Photos

We cannot wait to see the product in person.

It’s exciting to see a premium manufacturer plan its first wagon. Genesis might not have a long roof tradition like BMW and Audi but the South Korean company wants the market to see that wagons still look cool. To celebrate, we have shared an unofficial rendering of the G70 Shooting Brake.

Genesis teased last week the practical G70 and Kolesa.ru quickly discovered what lies beneath the camouflaged prototype. We’ve also seen the posh wagon being tested on public roads around the Nurburgring and we can easily imagine how it might look. Our Russian colleagues combined all available information to create these two virtual drawings.
Just like the refreshed sedan The G70 Shooting Brake will feature a split-headlight setup as well as a large, mesh-type grille. The front bumper has large openings that give the appearance of an aggressive fascia. However, this is to be expected from Genesis.

Similarities between the wagon and sedan will continue to the rear. However, unlike the sedan, which keeps its taillights away from the trunk lid, G70 wagon has the lighting elements extended onto the hatch. The back features a black plastic diffuser that adds sportiness and a dual exhaust pipe in its right corner. It’s not clear if this is the final arrangement for the bumper. However, the teaser image suggests something similar.

We don’t want to offend the messenger, but we do need to share the bad news. The G70 Shooting Brake, as far as we know will be limited to Europe as wagons are dying in the United States. We don’t believe Genesis will change its mind. However, there is a chance.
