Genesis was the first high-riding sport utility vehicle in South Korea. It debuted earlier this month. The GV80 was designed to be a direct competitor to the Audi Q7 and BMW X5. It will debut in South Korea later this month with a single diesel engine. We will soon see the U.S.-spec model, it turns out.

We don’t know the exact specifications of the US market engine, but we anticipate that the GV80 will get a pair gasoline-powered engines. A base 2.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder with 304 horsepower (227 kW) will be available. A 3.5-liter six cylinder with 380 horsepower (283 kW), should be able to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 5.7 seconds.
