Genesis GV90 Speculatively Recreated Based on Teaser Image

You want a more luxurious alternative to the Kia EV9 or Hyundai Ioniq 7, but you don’t have to sacrifice any of its features?

Multiple reports claim Hyundai has stopped developing internal combustion engines. This could only mean that the South Korean auto conglomerate is focusing on electric vehicles. The Ioniq 5, EV6 and GV60 were the first models to be introduced under the E-GMP platform in 2021. However, there are many more zero-emissions models.

The Ioniq6 Hyundai sedan will debut next year. It is based on the Prophecy design. The Ioniq 7 will follow in 2024 as a three-row SUV. The EV9 will be available from Kia, so it makes sense that Genesis would get its own large SUV with a seven-seat configuration. This might have been teased earlier this month by Hyundai’s premium division as a intentionally darkened scale model.

Gotcha Cars has created a new rendering that increases the brightness and exposes the GV90. This completely silent luxury cocoon will be available exclusively in EV form. It also features a different shape than the GV60. The latter will feature a fastback-esque profile and a sloped roofline. However, the largest Genesis will be boxy to maximize interior space for passengers as well as their cargo.

The GV90 and Ioniq 7 will use the largest version of E-GMP, which provides a huge wheelbase. In the case of Hyundai SEVEN, the distance between the axles is a magnificent 126 inches (3.25 meters). This means that even the most rearmost passengers will have ample legroom. It is a dedicated electric vehicle architecture. This means that the floor plan for the three SUVs of the XXL size has been completely flat.

These models are heavy and large so logic suggests that they will all come with all-wheel drive and dual motors. But, it remains to be seen. Since the GV90 will likely arrive after the Ioniq 7 or EV9, Hyundai Motor Group is probably saving the best for the last.

Last note: Not all EVs will ride on E-GMP. Jaehoon Chang, Hyundai CEO, stated Automotive News that a second electric-only architecture was in development.
