GMC Shows 2021 Canyon Denali Its ‘Heroic Grille Design

The truck is given a fresh face.

GMC revealed the updated Canyon model year 2021 back in January. This was a few months after the 2021 Chevy COLORADO. We had only photos of the AT4 trim at the time. We now have photos of the 2021 Canyon Denali and can see the new “Heroic Grille”.

The Denali’s new front looks more sophisticated than the old truck. The grille has a larger size and extends downward in a V shape into the lower fascia. A new 3-bar insert replaces the 2020 mesh grille. The lower fascia was completely redesigned, and the fog lights at the corners have been given a new shape. However, the headlights are unchanged from the old model.

The interior is also shown in a new photo. It looks very similar to the outgoing truck inside. There are some updates, including ash wood trim, aluminum finishes and heated and cooled front seat, unique stitching and embroidered headrests. A Cocoa/Dark Atmosphere colour scheme is new for 2021. Denali also offers exclusive 20-inch wheels with chrome accents and body parts.

GM offers a variety of engines, including the naturally aspirated 3.6 liter V6. It produces 308 horsepower (229 kilowatts), and 275 pound feet (373 Newton-meters). Customers also have the option to choose Duramax’s 2.8-liter turbodiesel, which produces 181 horsepower (134 kW), and 369 lbft (500 Nm). The V6 is paired with an eight-speed manual, while the diesel gets power through a six speed auto.

GMC Canyon, a refreshed 2021 GMC Canyon, will keep the truck competitive for a few years longer before GM unveils the next-generation truck. Rumours suggest that the next-generation Canyon and its corporate sibling the Chevy Colorado could be available for the 2023 model-year. They will ride on an updated version the architecture that underpins current trucks. It’s unclear if the update will boost sales. GMC sold 32 826 Canyons last year. However, the company claims that demand exceeds supply.
