This layout may look familiar.
The GMC Sierra new generation will debut at an event in Detroit on March 1. These photos give you a glimpse inside the pickup before its debut.
The Sierra retains camouflage, but it is not sufficient to hide the many similarities between the old and the new. Silverado. The images above show that they share the same central stack layout, with a screen at the top and vents flanking it. HVAC controls are below. GMC has a different steering wheel, with vertical spokes at its bottom as opposed to the curvier elements on the Chevy.
You will see the differences between the GMC and Chevy from the outside. The Sierra’s illumination is vertically oriented, rather than the Chevy’s narrow, horizontally placed headlights. The GMC’s grille is larger than the Silverado’s with a simpler array of horizontal slats. High trims will likely feature more chrome to make the truck standout.
The Sierra’s large, bracket-shaped taillights are located at the rear, as opposed to the Silverado, which has separate sections.
The GMC will lose some weight due to the increased use of aluminum. However, it will still have steel in its bed. It can weigh up to 450 pounds less depending on the truck’s exact configuration.
The Sierra will come with the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s of the Silverado. Some trims will also have the 10-speed auto. The possibility exists that the GMC could also include the 3.0-liter turbodiesel.
