It’s pretty much what you would expect from an Italian bull.
You may have seen many photos of the Lamborghini-Countach returning to in time for its 50th anniversary. You may have also seen our walkaround video of the returning icon, to show you all its details.
Now that you’ve seen all the numbers and photos, it’s time for the Countach to roar its V12 engine. YouTube’s Speedster404 captured the Countach at The Quail doing a quick start-up and a little slow drive around the area.
We have one word to describe this sound, and the video is embedded at the top of this page. It is glorious.
The new Countach’s V12 engine is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 that produces 769 horsepower (573 kilowatts) by itself. It also gets assistance from a 34-hp (22.5-kW) electric motor that is powered by Lamborghini’s 48-volt supercapacitor technology. This brings the total output to 803 horsepower (599 kW) and all four wheels via a seven-speed gearbox.
The Countach is capable of sprinting to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, and can reach an electronically limited speed of 221 mph (356 km/h). It’s also the fastest and most powerful Countach.
The new Countach’s electrified system sounds familiar because it uses the same hybrid powertrain as the Sian, but with slightly less power.
The number of new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 units is limited to 112 worldwide. This honors the original LP 112 designation. The price tag of the new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 has not yet been disclosed. It is also unknown if any units have owners. Reports indicate that the supercar is priced at well over $1million.
