Hennessey Announces Bronco VelociRaptor with More Than 400 HP

The first year, it will only be produced in 200 units.

Hennessey last year announced it would build the Bronco VelociRaptor. It was a beast of 750 horsepower off-road, with a supercharged 5.0-liter engine under the hood. The VelociRaptor 400 was introduced long before the Bronco began production. However, Ford has finally built the SUV and delivered it to dealers.

The VelociRaptor 400 retains Ford’s EcoBoost 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, unlike the Bronco VelociRaptor VIII. Hennessey adds power to the engine by replacing the intake and exhaust systems and calibrating the engine. Hennessey boosts the engine’s power to 405 horsepower (302 kW) or 503 lb/ft (681 Nm). According to the company, the tuned Bronco can reach 60 miles an hour (96 km per hour) in just 4.9 seconds.
Hennessey’s exterior upgrade includes Hennessey 18-inch Hennessey tires, 35-inch offroad tires, LED lights, and Hennessey/VelociRaptor badges. Retractable side steps and Hennessey-embroidered headrests make it easier to get in and out. Hennessey offers a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty that protects the Bronco’s off-road and engine modes.

Hennessey claims that this will reduce the Bronco VelociRaptor400’s first-year production to 200 copies, and the package will cost $24,950 more than the Bronco. Hennessey estimates that the average customer will spend $80,000 to upgrade their vehicle. After many delays that frustrated customers waiting for their Bronco, production is now complete. Owners will soon be able to choose from a variety of tunes, upgrades and kits to customize their off-road vehicles. We are eager to see what Hennessey has to offer and what the competition brings to the table.
