Here’s a walkaround of the 2022 Audi A8 L Horn

Do you have concerns about the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class?

Audi provided a sneak peak of the L Horch back in October. The photos of the Audi A8 L Horch look very promising, especially considering that it also has the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. Since then, the German automaker launched the A8L Horch at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show earlier in this month. It’s more than just an extra-luxurious A8L Horch. This is why the video walkaround exists.

The A8 L Horch is larger than the A8L. The A8 L measures 208.7 inches (5.302 mm), from bumper to bumper. It is therefore not a compact car. This is the Horch version, which bears the name of one the company’s pillars. It also aims at taking away Mercedes-Maybach S-Class sales, so it is only fair that the Horch model is longer than the standard. From nose to tail, the Horch measures 213.5inches (5,422mm).

The video walkaround shows more of the impressive design and size. We can see the longer doors thanks to its extended wheelbase. The body is also adorned with chrome pieces, which make it look like more automotive jewelry. The chromed-out egg-crate grill is sure to grab attention. The wheel design, facelifted exterior and Horch badges are just a few of the unique features. Even with these removed, the vehicle’s size and brightwork are still a draw.

The point of the walkaround is to show the interior. You’ll find plenty of legroom in the back, despite all of the equipment. The A8L Horch comes with a pair leather-trimmed, power-adjustable perches. The center console houses all adjusters. There’s wood, more leather and ambient lighting on the door panels. You can find additional storage space on the rear console if you are curious.

The A8L Horch has footrests in the back and embroidery on the seats. There are also two screens at the back that display the infotainment information. The Horch can even be ordered with pillows according to the Audi China website.

Some might be surprised that the engine doesn’t have an V8. It uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V8 engine and a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It produces 340 horsepower (253 Kilowatts) as well as 368 pound-feet (568 Newton-meters), of torque. It has Quattro all wheel drive, and shifts with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This is what you would expect from Audis of this calibre.

You will need to fly to China to get a closer look at A8L Horch. It’s currently only available in China, but it is possible that Audi may offer it in other countries. It’s worth looking into for Audi, given the success of Mercedes-Maybach.
