Honda CRX still has its original engine and gearbox after a million miles

It is in excellent condition.

Although it doesn’t guarantee your vehicle’s longevity it can help you maintain a strict maintenance program. Regular oil changes and careful maintenance can prolong a vehicle’s lifespan, allowing it accumulate hundreds of thousands of kilometers or more. The 1991 Honda CRX Si has racked up more than one million miles. The car is owned by Tampa Honda, Tampa, Florida. You can view it there today.

Sadakut Ali, a 17 year Tampa Honda veteran, stated that the classic Honda was first displayed at the dealer in 2015. The owner had lent it to the dealership back in 2015. The dealer uploaded a photo to its Facebook page that showed the car having logged 1,002,473 mile. The car had accumulated an additional mile before it was put on display. This is a remarkable amount of mileage that equals going twice around the globe.

Although the car’s interior is still intact, the exterior was repainted by the previous owner around eight to nine years ago. The car’s interior is not the only original thing. The dealership claims that the car still has its original engine, transmission, and a 5-speed manual due to the Si trim upgrade. It was paired with a 1.6-liter four cylinder, which produced 105 horsepower (78kilowatts) as well as 98 pound-feet (1132 Newton-meters), when it was brand new.

Tampa Honda’s 1991 Honda CRX Si is a reminder of the fact that you don’t have to sell a car because it has accumulated a lot of miles. We wouldn’t want to sell the pristine Si that the dealer is selling. This CRX, a 30-year-old vehicle, is a great example of how you can drive your car while maintaining its appearance. You can, at least, if you purchased a Honda. It’s worth a visit next time you are in Tampa.
