Honda invents a car face mask that fights viruses

This is just one of the many products that were born out of necessity.

They believe innovation is a result of necessity. This is something I believe wholeheartedly, and the Honda latest product is proof of that belief.

Honda Japan has launched Kurumask, an antiviral product that is specifically designed for Honda cabin air filters. The Kurumask is a new antiviral product for Honda cabin air filters. It’s installed on top of it (unlike the image in the lead). The current coronavirus pandemic has been resuscitated by a new strain in many countries. This innovation from Japan aims to address the problem.

How does the Kurumask function? Honda stated that the Kurumask captures virus droplets on its special surface. This reduces their size and damages them. This technology also uses zinc phosphate chemical transformation treatment to prevent vehicles from rusting.

The Kurumask is different from CN95 filters used by other car brands, such as Geely. This prevents viruses from entering the vehicle. It also destroys existing viruses in the cabin – such as those that might be caught while you are out and about, or when you visit public places.

Honda claims that the Kurumask is capable of removing 99.8% of viruses from the car’s air recirculation within just 15 minutes. However, viruses on surfaces can be removed in as little as 24 hours. The Kurumask, a consumable accessory, must be replaced every 15,000 km (9,321 miles).

The Kurumask is first available in Japan for the Honda NX Kei vehicle as an accessory. It costs 6,400 yen (roughly $61.99 at current exchange rates), before taxes. The product will be gradually made available to other Honda vehicles.
