According to a new report, Honda has approved the production of a Type R S660 and a S1000 version.
A new report indicates Honda has approved for production a Type R version of the S660 along with a beefier S1000 variant.
The stunning Honda S660, which is only Japanese in origin, has been treated with the MUG treatment. A Type R version with 100 bhp (75kW) is reportedly in the works and will have a more aggressive body to match the additional punch.
According to the latest reports, the S1000 has been approved for global production. This is good news. The S1000 will be equipped with a turbocharged VTEC gasoline engine that produces more than 127 horsepower (95 kW) and is significantly faster than the S660’s 63 bhp, 660cc engine.
The Honda S1000 will receive a power boost and should be 200mm wider than the standard car. It also has a 150mm longer wheelbase.
Motoring was told by a source close to Honda that the S1000 would go on sale in mid- to late 2016.
