What size do you need your Honda crossover to be?
Honda has a lot of crossovers. You’re spoilt for choice with the HRV and the Pilot. There are many options for Honda crossovers from all over the globe.
You have models like the WR-V in South America, and the BR-V in Southeast Asia and parts Latin America. These models were created because there was a demand for crossovers that are affordable in these regions. The SUV RS Concept is the latest, and it might sport the ZR-V label once it reaches production.
Honda registered ZR-V in April 2020. It is possible that this will be the name of the concept. It will be below the Honda HR-V in Honda’s global crossover lineup. This model was launched in Indonesia and will likely be available across Southeast Asia.
It will also be available in India, where subcompact crossovers have become a hot item. It could even replace the WR-V in some parts of Latin America. It will be significantly smaller than the HR-V.
This is still a concept vehicle and there are not yet any specifications. It is possible it shares parts with the second-generation BR-V. This means that it could use a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine making 119 horsepower (89 kilowatts), and 107 pound-feet (135 Newton-meters). The most likely transmissions are a six-speed manual or a CVT.
The emerging markets have several key models it must match. These are the Hyundai Creta and Kia Stonic, Ford EcoSport and Dacia Duster. The ZR-V is unlikely to reach North America. It is a crucial, regionally-specific Honda model.
