A presentation to investors reveals the upcoming Hyundai products.
Hyundai now has a player in the SUV category that is near-premium with the launch of the Palisade Calligraphy. The Palisade is a seven-seat utility that can seat seven and has an optional all-wheel drive system. It also features powerful engines. According to a presentation by Hyundai Motor Company investors, the Palisade, a relatively new model is, will get a facelift next spring.
On page 4, the presentation shows that a refreshed Palisade will arrive sometime in 2022. It will be joined by an updated Sonata sedan. It is difficult to predict which model will be first and there may be a joint market launch. The two new models will be accompanied, however, by the Grandeur and ix35, which are likely to be exclusive to the South Korean market.
The presentation by Hyundai also confirms that the Elantra N will be released in 2021. It is shown under the Avante N moniker. This will be the name of the performance sedan for South Korea and Singapore.
The roadmap also includes the Mistra EV, which will launch in the latter part of this year. However, it will only be available for sale in China. Next year will see the debut of an electric vehicle that is only available in China, and then a plug-in hybrid version for the Grandeur. We will remind you that Hyundai no longer sells the Grandeur in America and the Sonata, the brand’s most expensive and largest sedan, is not available for purchase in the United States.
Two of Hyundai’s high-riding models were refreshed in October and November 2013. Santa Fe received a substantial refresh that included a new dual clutch transmission and luxury Calligraphy trim levels. The Kona and its electric counterpart received a facelift a month later. However, there were no improvements to the powertrain for the latter.
