This Veloster test mule was spotted testing at the Nurburgring and could have a dual-clutch transmission.
Since the Hyundai VelosterN was released, it has been well-received by auto writers around the world. Albert Biermann shared the knowledge he gained at BMW and created a little monster with his team.
All that being said, how does a Veloster N-trial vehicle do at the Nurburgring with all this? This car is not camouflaged and it’s certainly too early to be considered a next-generation model. It’s obvious that this car is a test mule based on its scruffy and half-finished appearance.
This spy video was shared by JvDSupercars on YouTube. It shows that the white Veloster N has silver bumpers and minimal badgering (at least on its hatch) as well as tape around the sides skirts. The car is overall dirty. Hyundai wanted to be incognito so a brand-new performance car in filthy condition and mismatched body panels was not an option.
After the vehicle is loaded onto the truck, the rear lights flash briefly before the car enters gear. This indicates that the Veloster N has an auto transmission. Hyundai could be testing a dual-clutch transmission on the Nurburgring.
The YouTube video has both English and Korean comments that support this belief. According to reports, the DCT version Veloster N will be available later in the year. This suggests that Hyundai is testing the car before it goes into production.
We don’t have the opportunity to watch it race down the famous track but we can hear some of its exhaust note. This sound is a favorite part of the Veloster N and we are excited to hear it at its full song, combined with lightning fast shifts from a dual clutch transmission.
