There is hope for the sedan.
Hyundai won’t let the sedan go and will release a new model in the next two-years. The Grandeur luxury sedan from Hyundai will be available to customers who don’t want to buy a Genesis. The new sedan is not an SUV-focused initiative and will instead play into Hyundai’s tradition of selling the Grandeur since its inception in 1986. These perspective renderings of the Hyundai Grandeur, based on spy photographs of the prototype, allow us to see Hyundai’s future brand ambition.
The Grandeur name may not be well-known to American customers. This is because Hyundai decided to call the Grandeur the Azera in America. It was still available for sale until 2018, when Hyundai quietly discontinued the slow-selling sedan. Hyundai has seen a lot of progress since 2018, and they believe the world needs more sedans. This is why they spent so much time preserving the Grandeur’s history and sharing spy photos of the prototype all over the world.
Hyundai knows that sedans must be attractive to sell. Hyundai decided to be bold with the styling of the Grandeur while still paying homage the past. We can see the interesting vertical headlights under the camouflage and ample space for a large grille. To give the sedan a presence, there is an LED lightbar at the rear and a longer trunk area. The original Grandeur’s rear three-quarter windows are still visible, but they give a nod towards the past and show us the future of luxury Hyundai sedans.
Are you sure there is enough space for a Hyundai luxury sedan? Or should Hyundai direct customers towards one of its Genesis models?
