It is a good design, he agrees.
James May has returned. He is an old Top Gear host and is a regular guest on YouTube’s Drivetribe channel. We saw him review the Honda Civic Type R, discussing various automotive topics, as well as telling us which car is the best. He is now back to talk about the Tesla Model S.
The P100D is a range-topping model S. May’s review on the Type R will give you an idea of what to expect. However, this video is slightly longer. May starts his report by saying that “This may be the greatest muscle car America ever produced.” Although he was not impressed with the design of the sedan, he seemed to be happy with it.
May mentions that the cabin’s interior is a bit bland because of the use of colors. She even encouraged Elon Musk to use contrasting colors. The infotainment system “The infotainment software is just marvelous because – take a look at that screen in sat-nav mode.” He seems most impressed with the system’s interesting features – listen to what he has to say at the 1:40 mark.
May also praises the boot space and legroom in the back. Captain Slow thinks the boot is too large, so he gives it his thumbs down. The Model S P100D is generally good, except that it’s a little too big for Great Britain’s roads. May also agrees with this assessment.
Unrelated to the Tesla topic, May is seen talking about the Ford Mondeo ST in the back of the garage. This should be the car featured in the final episode of The Grand Tour .
