Jeep 4xe Charging Stations on Three Popular Off-Road Trails to Open Soon

You don’t need to worry about running low on juice while driving.

Even for automakers that don’t usually associate electric vehicles with them, electrification is inevitable. Electric vehicles are no longer boring and dull machines. Last year, a new electrified model was introduced for vehicles as tough and durable as the Jeep Wrangler.

However, Plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe by Wrangler It has a problem, it has been given a All-electric range disappointing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The battery-powered off-roader is limited to running 21 miles (34 km) instead of the expected 25 miles (40km).
Stellantis announced it would install charging stations at three popular off-roading locations: Moab, Utah, Rubicon Trail, Pollock Pines (California) and Big Bear, California.

These charging stations will be near Jeep Badge of Honor trail, which were developed in collaboration with Electrify America. They are expected to open this spring. These stations can be connected directly to the power grid, or they can use solar power to produce electricity, as the images show.

To unlock free charging, Jeep 4xe owners must log in via Electrify America’s mobile app. Owners can also initiate and track charging sessions through the app.

It is obvious that installing charging stations at trailheads is a good idea. Hikers who park their Jeep 4xes on the trailhead and then hike can get the extra juice to their plug-in hybrids. The trailhead chargers can deliver Level 2 (240-volt), which can fully charge the Wrangler’s 17-kWh battery pack in just two hours.

The Jeep 4xe charging network, which will include trailhead chargers, will be expanding this year. Additional locations will be announced in future.
