Jeep Compass Seven-Seat Unofficial Renderings Imagine a Roomy Crossover

Jeep could call it the Patriot.

Spy shots have shown that Jeep has developed a three-row version Compass. However, we know it will not wear the Compass brand when it goes into production. Although the photos so far have not shown much of the compact crossover’s seven-seat capacity, it appears that it will borrow styling cues from the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and the Wagneer as well as the Grand Wagoneer.

Kolesa.ru has ordered a pair unofficial renderings to show the new Jeep’s design. The renderings show the seven-seat Compass with a seven-slot grille and a pair of headlights that sweep back over the fenders. The rendering shows the standard Compass’s large wheel arches and D-pillar glass design. In the renderings you can see the chrome piece wrapping around the greenhouse and under the rear hatch’s glass. Regular taillights are also present.

Although the new seven-seat Compass will not be identical to the five-seat model, they will share similarities in design and interior. According to rumors, Jeep will put a turbocharged 2.0 liter under the hood. This should produce around 200 horsepower (149 megawatts). The turbocharged 2.0-liter will power all four wheels via a nine speed automatic gearbox. The front-wheel-drive model could be powered by a smaller turbo 1.3-liter with 180 horsepower (134 kW). The Compass currently has a 2.4-liter four cylinder that produces 180 horsepower.

The larger Compass won’t have the Compass name when it arrives. rumors suggest it will get the Patriot name. This is the name Jeep used in the US for over a decade on the compact five-seat crossover that it introduced in 2007, alongside the original Compass. We don’t think the seven-seat Compass will be joining the Jeep lineup. Although Jeep is keen to add more seats to its US products, This model will likely be reserved for emerging markets like Brazil or India, but we should at the very least know its name by early next month.
